Dundee City Council in partnership with Evolt Charging has completed the migration of its entire public and fleet electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure away from the ChargePlace Scotland (CPS) network.
The migration of more than 190 public and fleet EV charging points across the city to the Evolt network, including Dundee’s four rapid charging hubs, was completed by Evolt’s local teams in two and a half weeks.
Careful planning, clear communication and a phased approach enabled each individual charger required only 30-60 minutes downtime, ensuring minimal disruption for drivers, the council said.
The transition is the first step in the new long-term contract, in which Evolt will be responsible for managing, operating and maintaining Dundee’s public and fleet EV infrastructure over the next 20 years.
Evolt Charging has worked in close partnership with Dundee City Council for almost 15 years on multiple projects, from its first EV charging location in 2011 as well as using technologies such as a ‘second life’ battery system and rainwater harvesting technology.
