An EV driver from Winchester is staking a claim to the title of the UK’s most prolific charger on a public network.
Audiologist Rebecca Parramore, 27, covers almost 200 miles a day visiting patients across the south of England to carry out hearing tests in their homes.
Without access to a home charger, Parramore relies entirely on public charging networks for her journeys. Since the Winchester Superhub opened in March 2025, she’s already charged there over 175 times.
The site, built by InstaVolt, is one of the largest of its kind in the country, and is also her go-to location where she tops up every weekday and often at weekends too.
Rebecca Parramore said:
“It’s part of my routine now. I don’t have a home charger, and my company has moved to electric vehicles – but once you drive an EV you realise how great they are. I drive a BYD Dolphin and it couldn’t be better suited to my long days on the road.
“Charging at the Winchester Superhub has fit seamlessly into my day. You’re always guaranteed a charger, it’s well-lit and safe. As a bonus, you can enjoy a Starbucks and catch up on admin or just relax and unwind after a long day on the road.”
Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, said:
“We built the Winchester Superhub with every kind of EV driver in mind – from local residents and commuters to holiday makers and those without access to home charging – and Rebecca is a perfect example.
“With 44 ultra-rapid chargers available 24/7, we’re here to support everyone. All of our sites are designed with comfort, convenience, and reliability at their core.”
