Trojan Energy has completed the second phase of its on-street EV charging rollout in partnership with Barnet Council, installing a further 790 flat and flush charge points across more than 70 residential streets.
The installations follows the successful deployment of 463 charge points in 2022 with the latest phase running from October 2023 to November 2024.
This move aims to reinforce Barnet’s position as one of London’s “most forward-thinking boroughs”, Trojan said, when it comes to enabling the switch to electric vehicles.
Trojan Energy’s flat and flush charge points sit completely level with the pavement when not in use. This design ensures that footpaths remain clear and accessible for all users, which is a key consideration in densely populated urban areas.
The project forms part of Barnet Council’s wider climate action strategy, aimed at reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality, and encouraging uptake of zero-emission transport across the borough.
With more than1250 Trojan Energy charge points now live in Barnet, the borough is setting the standard for inclusive, future-ready EV charging infrastructure that works for all, Trojan said.
Ian Mackenzie, CEO of Trojan Energy, said:
“We’re proud to have completed this major deployment of more than 1250 charge points across Barnet, significantly expanding access to reliable on-street EV charging. It’s fantastic to see so many residents already using the network, and that number continues to grow every day.
“We’re especially grateful to the outstanding team at Barnet Council, whose dedication and collaboration helped ensure a smooth, effective rollout for local EV drivers. We look forward to building on this success and continuing our partnership with the Council for years to come.”
