Public EV charging network Be.EV has invested £1m to create Shropshire’s biggest EV charging hub at Telford Centre in Shropshire – making it the largest hub the company has ever built.

Shoppers at the million square foot Shopping Centre , which boasts over 160 stores, cafés and restaurants, will have access to 18 ultra-fast 300kW chargers.

Telford currently has one of the lowest levels of EV adoption in the country, but the introduction of the new chargers at the Telford Centre will make it easier for shoppers across Shropshire to switch to EVs. The retailers at the Telford Centre will reap the rewards of having the largest charging hub in the region, with one study showing that consumer spending increases from £36 per visit to £80 per visit after EV chargers are installed.

The Telford Centre is located less than a 5 minute drive from Junction 5 of the M54, which has an average of 54,000 vehicles passing through it every day.

To celebrate the launch, Be.EV is offering a Welcome Week promotion from 9th to 16th July — get 50% off charging fees when you pay via the Be.EV app, with no limits on usage and no minimum spend.

This  £1,064,000 investment is the largest EV charging hub Be.EV has ever built —.with the deal coming soon after a £20 million investment by the firm into sites at five Schroders Capital real estate funds, which will see the installation of over 200 ultra-rapid Kempower EV charging bays across 22 major UK retail and leisure sites.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said:

“This milestone at Telford Centre shows exactly why Be.EV is the trusted partner of choice for retailers and communities across the UK.

“It’s not just about building charging points — it’s about delivering reliable, future-proof infrastructure that keeps pace with the rapidly growing EV market.

“This £1 million investment is a bold statement of our ambition to make ultra-fast, convenient charging accessible to everyone, right where they live, work, and shop. We’re proud to be leading the charge towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Glynn Morrow, Centre Manager at Telford Centre, said:

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer visitors to Telford Centre the ability to also charge their electric vehicles while they visit us to shop, dine or enjoy our leisure offering. We’re sure the facility will be very popular with customers.”
