Škoda Auto is advancing its electrification strategy with the introduction of its new Enyaq family on vehicles.

The new Enyaq family introduces enhanced digital capabilities and more advanced assistance systems with bidirectional charging also a new feature, allowing the battery to serve as a supplementary energy storage unit at home.

It offers two battery sizes and three powertrain options: the Enyaq 60 and Enyaq 85 each have one electric motor and rear-wheel drive, while the Enyaq 85x comes with an additional motor at the front and all-wheel drive.

Launched in 2020 as the first Škoda model to be based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB), by the end of 2024 the electric SUV has been delivered to over 250,000 customers.

In the UK customers will be able to choose from three familiar trim grades; SE L, Edition and SportLine. The entry point to the new Enyaq range is the SE L model, which is available exclusively with the SUV body style and a 63kWh (59kWh net) battery.

The Edition trim is available with a 63kWh (59kWh net) pack and a larger 82kWh (77kWh net) battery size, with the latter also available in Coupé body style.

The SportLine variant is available with the 85x battery with all-wheel drive in either SUV or Coupé body style, and comes equipped with illuminated Tech-Deck, head-up display, CANTON sound system, area view camera, progressive dynamic steering, sports suspension and variable boot floor.

The two battery sizes and three powertrain options, delivering outputs from 204 PS to 286 PS (150 kW to 210 kW). The top‑tier Enyaq 85x features an additional electric motor on the front axle, providing all‑wheel drive capability. With a range of up to 365 miles, the OEM said it was “perfectly suited for long-distance journeys”.

The new Enyaq also supports rapid charging at DC fast-charging stations, achieving a charge from 10 to 80% in 28 minutes or less, with a charging rate of 175 kW. Bidirectional charging is only available for battery versions 85 and 85x.

Vehicles also have the upgraded MyŠkoda app, which introduces several enhancements, including new functions. Powerpass, providing access to more than 800,000 charging points throughout Europe, and Plug & Charge, enabling seamless charging at public stations without the need for external authorisation methods like RFID cards or apps, is fully integrated into the app. The software also includes artificial intelligence with ChatGPT.

Johannes Neft, Škoda Auto Board Member for Technical Development, said:

“Customers can choose from three different powertrains and two battery sizes. Improvements to the Enyaq’s aerodynamics further enhance its already excellent efficiency, enabling an extended range of up to 365 miles on the WLTP cycle and making the Enyaq an ideal choice for long‑distance travel.”

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, said:

“We want to excite the market further by building on our existing Enyaq strengths such as the generous amount of space, efficient drivetrains and excellent value proposition.

“Our new Modern Solid design language, more comprehensive standard equipment, and new digital features combine to make the Enyaq models even better everyday companions.

Martin Jahn, Škoda Board Member for Sales and Marketing, added:

“The new Enyaq marks the next step in our EV campaign. Following the Enyaq’s strong sales in 2024, when it outperformed the overall market growth for electric vehicles, the latest model in our best‑selling Enyaq series is set to continue and expand on this success.

“The new Enyaq charges from 10 to 80 per cent in just 28 minutes or less and features a completely new design as well as an enhanced user experience. Innovations such as Remote Park Assist and the improved functionality of the MyŠkoda app will make everyday life even more convenient for our customers.”
