Oxfordshire based EV charge point manufacturer Compleo UK has secured a major tender with Islington Council.
Over the next two years, the company will install a range of AC, DC and High-Speed EV chargers to support the council’s more than 550 fully-electric fleet, with a main installation focus at their waste and recycling centre.
The project will see Compleo install and maintain a mix of AC and DC chargers tailored to meet the diverse needs of Islington Council’s fully electric fleet, which range from electric cars to coaches and tipper trucks.
Most of the new chargers will be installed at the council’s waste and recycling centre at Cottage Road, Islington, which serves as a hub for its operational vehicles.
The installation will aim to provide “fast, efficient, and reliable charging” to keep its “vital fleet on the move and operating smoothly to provide a seamless service to Islington residents”, it said.
Within the successful tender, run by TPPL, Compleo will also help Islington Council maintain their reputation as one of the most forward thinking, green councils with several innovative eco projects.
The first EV chargers will start to be installed in early 2025 and will be completed over a two-year period .
