Ultra-rapid EV charging network InstaVolt has launched its first ultra-rapid charging site in the Republic of Ireland as part of its expanding international growth.

InstaVolt’s Irish launch is part of its ambition to install over 16,000 chargers across Europe by 2030 and become the continent’s largest ultra-rapid charging operator, it said.

The two 160kW ultra-rapid chargers installed at the Dublin restaurant can deliver an 80% charge in less than 20 minutes. Powered by 100% renewable energy, the chargers align with InstaVolt’s commitment to sustainability across its growing international network.

This latest development underscores InstaVolt’s broader commitment to international expansion with further chargers in the Republic of Ireland planned for McDonald’s locations in Newbridge, Letterkenny, and Maynooth by early 2025.

Simon Smith, InstaVolt’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“We are delighted to bring InstaVolt’s ultra-rapid chargers to Dublin, marking an exciting milestone in our journey to expand across Europe.

“Working with premium partners like McDonald’s allows us to deliver world-class charging solutions while supporting drivers in making the switch to electric vehicles.

“Our goal is to set the standard for ultra-rapid charging, combining reliability, ease of use, and sustainability.

“The installation at McDonald’s Belgard Road underscores the strength of InstaVolt’s partnership with global brands that share its commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Known for its seamless “tap and charge” model, InstaVolt has become synonymous with hassle-free charging and is trusted by EV drivers across its growing network.

McDonald’s Jimmy Edwards who owns and operates the Tallaght restaurants said:

“I’m thrilled to introduce the new InstaVolt rapid charging point at our Belgard Road restaurant.“This is an exciting step forward in our commitments to sustainability and elevating the customer experience at our restaurants.

“Customers can now take advantage of ultra-rapid charging in the car park while stopping to refuel themselves.”
