Monta integrates with Zap-Pay

International charging network Monta has now joined Zapmap as a payment partner.

The move means Zapmap app users can pay quickly and easily for their charging across tens of thousands of charge points, as well as being able to search for charge points, plan longer journeys and share updates with other electric car drivers.

The move marks Zapmap’s 17th payment partnership, as Monta continues to grow in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry, offering a robust and scalable solution.

With more than half-a-million users, Monta now works across 32 countries, providing integration with more than 500 supported charger models.

The platform enables more than 750 industry partners to offer a charging experience that is free from hardware restrictions, delivering a solution that is fully OCPP-compliant and adaptable to any setup, the company said.

It comes as Monta’s environmental progress was also highlighted, with its network helping to save 160,065 tons of CO2 to date, it said.

The company also said it would share a live data partnership with Zapmap, meaning users of the Zapmap app and web map can see live status updates on Monta charge points at any time, day or night.

The charge point operator has joined an extensive network of payment partners, including Be.EV, EVC, PoGo, Osprey, ESB Energy, char.gy, GeniePoint, Mer, MFG EV Power, Fastned, Alfa Power, Connected Kerb, evyve, Charge My Street, Applegreen Electric, and FOR EV.

Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, said:

“I’m delighted that Monta is now live as our newest Zap-Pay partner. Monta has been a driving force in the rapid expansion of the UK’s EV charging infrastructure, its ability to scale its operations to help meet the growing demand for charging solutions is impressive.

“This growth aligns with Zapmap’s mission to provide comprehensive information and the tools to support the transition to sustainable transport, and simple access to payment is a big part of that. ”

Alok Dubey, Regional Director at Monta, said:

“Zapmap has been central to the growth of public EV charging in the UK for a number of years now, enabling some of the very first EV drivers to charge in public with confidence.

“We’re proud to partner with Zapmap to provide EV drivers with a simple, seamless method for completing a charging session on-the-go, and in turn, support the UK’s transition to zero emission road transport.“
