HSC launches ‘Ways of Life’ campaign
The Highways Sector Council (HSC) has launched its ‘Ways of Life’ Campaign to showcase the positive role highways play in our lives and the opportunities for rewarding careers in the sector.
The campaign aims to motivating individuals to learn more about highways and consider joining the highways and transport sector in what is an exciting and important time.
Designed by early and mid-career professionals to accurately portray highways and transport work, the campaign challenges preconceived notions about the sector, celebrating the crucial role that highways plays in our connected lives.
At the heart of the campaign is a video narrated by poet and radio presenter Mr Gee, which spotlights the variety of trips that highways enable from public transport and commercial traffic to cycling and journeys by foot.
The journeys aim to highlight how a career in highways and transport can contribute to a more sustainable society.
Testimonies also come from three inspirational role models, Sharon Changula, Department for Transport – Head of Bus Funding, Delivery, Public Transport and Local Group, Grace Prendergast, Carbon Analyst from FM Conway, and Shyam Ruparelia, Senior Civil Engineer Technician from Leicestershire County Council.
Lilian Greenwood, Minister for Future of Roads at the Department for Transport, said:
