Electric bus and coach firm Pelican has announced that manufacturer Yutong has delivered 200,000 zero tailpipe emission vehicles to the firm.

This milestone of 200,000 zero tailpipe mission vehicles has been reached less than 25 years after the very first vehicle was placed into service in 1999.

The volume includes both buses and coaches, as well as electric and hydrogen variants.

Ian Downie, Head of Yutong UK, said:

“This is a major achievement as the vehicles have already completed 44.2 billion kms of operational service. Our tried, tested and proven products continue to be at the vanguard of zero emission technology.

“The mileages involved represent the equivalent emissions benefits as the planting of 140,000 hectares of trees.

“We are really looking forward to presenting our zero emission buses and coaches, and diesel coaches at Euro Bus Expo to continue our dialogue with customers on the vital role that bus and coach plays in sustainable passenger transport.”
