Kempower partners with DFDS
EV charging provider Kempower has signed an agreement to provide fast-charging solutions for the logistics firm DFDS’s charging stations.
DFDS has previously deployed Kempower charging solutions at one charging site in Belgium and in Sweden and three in the Netherlands, with each site offering a total capacity of up to 400 kW.
Under the agreement, Kempower will provide fast-charging solutions for DFDS charging hubs upon request, enabling electric trucks and terminal equipment to rapidly recharge their batteries.
DFDS already has over 100 electric trucks in operation across Europe.
The latest project has been the expansion of DFDS’s s first eTruck charging site equipped with Kempower chargers, located in Gothenburg, Sweden. DFDS Gothenburg is one of Sweden’s largest eTruck charging depots with 38 charging points.
Sophie-Kim Chapman, VP, Decarbonisation at DFDS, said:
“In DFDS, our ambition is to have at least 25% of our fleet battery electric by 2030. Collaborating with infrastructure partners such as Kempower is an important step in making this happen.”
Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower, said:
“This collaboration with DFDS is a significant milestone and serves as a strong example of industry leaders working together to accelerate the electrification of transportation and shape a cleaner future for generations to come.”
