Tesla drivers can now see how much money they are saving by driving one of the firm’s electric vehicles instead of a petrol car.

The new feature allows for their savings compared to fossil fuel driving to be seen through the Tesla app.

The information uses the UK’s most popular EV charging tariff, Intelligent Octopus Go, as the baseline for their charging savings.

Fiona Howarth (pictured), CEO of Octopus Electric Vehicles, said:

“The new ‘Fuel Savings’ feature from Tesla, a true pioneer in the EV industry, clearly shows how much money you can save by ditching your polluting fossil fuel car. EVs are cheaper to run than old school fossil fuel cars, and it’s not even close.

“The ‘affordability factor’ is often overlooked; especially when linked to a tariff such as Intelligent Octopus Go. It’s the most popular home charging tariff on the market – allowing customers to drive from London to Cornwall for under £5, leaving more cash in families’ pockets.”

Launched in early 2022, Intelligent Octopus Go takes smart charging to the next level, and is the UK’s first 100% flexible charging tariff – providing drivers with six hours of low cost charging each night.
