LEVC’s dealership in Brewery Road has just unveiled an exclusive £5,000 scrappage deal aimed at helping taxi drivers in London and the North West transition to zero-emission vehicles.

The limited-time offer is designed to make it easier for drivers to replace their ageing diesel cabs with the company’s eco-friendly TX model.

The taxi industry is facing a challenging time, with driver numbers in London declining significantly.

As of June 2024, the number of licensed drivers had dropped by 514 compared to the start of the year, mirroring the reduction in diesel taxis. Since 2019, there has been a staggering decrease of 6,190 drivers.

In the North West, around 84.7% of Hackney Carriages in the North West still run on diesel, compared to 44% in London. The initiative aims to provide a timely opportunity for drivers to upgrade to a more sustainable option.

The offer, exclusively available through LEVC Brewery Road, is a targeted effort to support the trade by modernising the fleet and reducing emissions, and helping retain drivers in the industry by making the switch to a TX more accessible.

  • £5,000 Part-Exchange Payment: Available when purchasing a new zero-emission capable TX.
  • Eligibility: Applies to any diesel taxi, including models like the TX4, Vito, and Peugeot E7, even those outside London.
  • Limited Availability: With limited stock, the offer is available until the end of September 2024.
