Motability Operations has announced Andy Broadfield will be joining the business from November as Managing Director of Electric & Insurance.

Broadfield is joining the firm from Direct Line Group (DLG), where he played a key role in the Insurance Transition Programme from RSA, gaining valuable insights into the company’s operations.

In this newly created role at Motability Operations, Broadfield will spearhead the company’s electrification strategy, and drive enhancements to the customer insurance experience.

With the transport industry shifting to electrification from ICE vehicles, Broadfield brings extensive experience in innovation and start-up development within corporate environments, coupled with a deep understanding of electric vehicles and a passion for customer-centric solutions, it said.

Broadfield will oversee the areas focused on innovating for customers, concentrating on enhancing the company’s electric offering for the future. This will include developing the Scheme’s lease model as the company’s EV fleet grows.

Andrew Miller, CEO of Motability Operations, said he was “thrilled” to welcome Broadfield, and the experience he brings to the firm.

He said: “His rich background in innovation and EV expertise, coupled with his comprehensive understanding of our insurance operations will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our services.

“Andy’s leadership will undoubtedly enhance our continued commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences and sustainable solutions.”

Andy Broadfield said of his appointment:

“I am really excited to join Motability Operations at such a pivotal time in the automotive industry.

“It’s a privilege to work with such a talented team to build upon the company’s strong foundation. Working with the many Electric Vehicle industry pioneers, we will deliver innovative solutions to make electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for our customers.”
