EV charging platform Monta has fully integrated with contactless payment terminal provider CPI.

The deal will see EV drivers able to pay for their public charging session with just the tap of a contactless device, or payment card. Public charging regulations that came into force last November mean charge point operators (CPOs) must now offer a contactless payment option on charge points over 8kW.

EV drivers using a charge point with Monta’s software are now guaranteed to have the choice between a contactless payment method, as well as the Monta app.

Commenting on the integration, Alok Dubey, Regional Director, Strategic Sales – West at Monta, said: “To ensure a smooth transition to EVs, not only must the charging infrastructure be up to scratch in all parts of the country, but public charging must be simple and seamless – which includes drivers having a choice in the way they pay for sessions.

“In adding CPI to our portfolio of supported terminals, our business customers now have greater choice when selecting the terminal to fit, and subsequently facilitate this payment method.”

Patrick Richards, Senior Product Manager at Crane Innovations, said: “The partnership between Crane Payment Innovations and Monta shows how industry collaboration can elevate EV charging for everyone involved, providing both charge point operators and consumers with unmatched convenience and reliability.

“With our cashless payment systems and Monta’s comprehensive EV charging solutions, we’re excited to deliver streamlined operations and enhanced user experience to this growing industry.

“This collaboration solidifies our commitment to supporting the industry’s growth and sustainability, making us once again a preferred partner for charge point operators aiming for excellence in service and technology.”
