GRIDSERVE has now installed more than 100 high power chargepoints so far in 2023 as its latest Electric Super Hub opens at Abbey Retail Park in St Ives, near the A141 and A14.

The new location has six High Power chargers, capable of up to 350kW, which can be accessed by both local drivers and those stopping at food outlets at the retail park. All the chargers are powered by 100% net-zero carbon energy from the company’s hybrid solar and battery farms.

To make it easy for customers to charge their electric vehicle, all GRIDSERVE locations feature both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, accept contactless payment and provide real-time status updates to a myriad of popular EV charging maps.

Since 2021, 26 Electric Super and Retail Hubs have opened with more than 200 chargers. In 2022, more than 100 chargers were installed in 12 months, which has been followed by the same milestone reached in seven months so far in 2023, with more to come. GRIDSERVE has at least 50 High Power charger locations already opened, awaiting energisation or in construction, equal to more than 400 High Power chargepoints added to the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway.

Toddington Harper, CEO of GRIDSERVE, said: “I am thrilled that we have reached 100 High Power chargers this year with another superb Electric Super Hub. Nearly half of the total High Power chargers on the GRIDSERVE Electric Highway have been installed in the last seven months, showing the great pace and commitment from our teams to give the UK the charging network it deserves. We look forward to continuing this speed and scale throughout the rest of 2023 and beyond.”

Nick Sutton, Abbey Retail Park, said: “We know that for some EV drivers finding such High Power chargers locally has been a challenge for some time, so we are very happy to welcome GRIDSERVE to the Park.”
