WAE Technologies (WAE) has launched battery intelligence software to improve the life, safety, power and charging times of a battery system.

The software, called Elysia, brings embedded and cloud-based products together with access to battery insights and the ability to manage, optimise and enhance performance across the battery’s entire lifecycle – both in the vehicle and in ‘second life’ applications such as stationary grid storage.

The insight and control provided by the product, reduces an OEM’s need to oversize or overengineer battery systems, enabling them to be lighter, cheaper and more sustainable, the firm claims. The core offering is based around two key products: Elysia Embedded – a suite of state-of-the-art battery management algorithms – and Elysia Cloud Platform – a cloud-based system which uses proprietary digital twin technology.

The software is built upon a combination of AI and data science, fused with electro-chemical modelling expertise, alongside real-world battery engineering and development experience.

Elysia Commercial Lead, Joe Jones, said: “We are providing easy to interpret, actionable battery insights to give OEMs, fleets and battery asset financiers unprecedented transparency, allowing them to optimise a battery and improve its performance and the value it delivers over the course of its life.”

WAE Technologies CEO, Craig Wilson, said: “The electric mobility market is growing quickly, and battery intelligence is the key to unlocking the potential of what is the most fundamental part of an EV.”
