Rapid charging firm bp pulse has opened a new charge-point hub on Silk Road in Macclesfield

The hub features four 300kW chargers or eight 150kW chargers – each capable of adding up to 100 miles for each EV in around 15 minutes.

The scheme, which upgrades the region’s public electric charging network, was supporting the implementation of Cheshire East Council’s EV charging strategy.

The chargers are accessible from the A523, known as The Silk Road, a key route to motorists and businesses around Cheshire.

Akira Kirton, vice president, bp pulse UK, said: “The opening of the new charging hub in Macclesfield reflects bp pulse’s commitment to creating the infrastructure and technology that gives people the confidence to make the transition to electric vehicles.

“We believe electric vehicle charging in the right place, at the right time, at the right speed is what will deliver the EV charging network the UK needs.”
