The Duchenne Dash London-Paris charity bike ride will be supported by the European fast charging company, Fastned, this year.

As the 2023 Official Vehicle Charging Partner, Fastned will support the event – which raises money for those impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy – with charging for Dash’s electric-powered fleet of eight support cars through its network of ultra-rapid charging bays.

The Duchenne Dash will have access to Fastned’s growing network, allowing them to charge up the support vehicles for
free. This will help to raise even more money for the cause while generating fewer carbon emissions than ever before.

The Duchenne Dash has already taken huge strides into reducing the carbon footprint of the event, thanks to the ongoing support from its Official Support Vehicle partner, LCH. In 2022, the Duchenne Dash support vehicle fleet became 100% electric.

Fastned riders will also participate in the Duchenne Dash and the Dash at Home – a challenge to complete the distance from London to Paris (300km) through physical activities in six weeks.

Speaking about the news, Emily Reuben, CEO and founder of Duchenne UK said: “We are incredibly grateful for Fastned’s support of the 2023 Duchenne Dash and are proud that the event will be our greenest ever. Without the help of companies like Fastned, the Dash would not generate the hundreds of thousands of pounds needed for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Next stop, Paris!”

Michiel Langezaal, CEO of Fastned said: “Fastned is delighted to partner with Duchenne UK to power their support cars for the first time, in both the UK and France. We’re also proud to participate in the Duchenne Dash at every level – whether that’s cycling through the French countryside or taking part in the Dash at Home. We wish the riders every success in raising funds for this important cause.”
