Furniture retailer moves to fully electric fleet

Britain’s largest independent furniture retailer, Furniture Village, is adopting a fully electric fleet with the acquisition of 25 PEUGEOT e-2008 vehicles.

The vehicles will be used by a mix of field managers and store managers as they travel between Furniture Village’s various UK locations, as well as used to visit customer homes.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 is powered by a 50kWh battery connected to a 136hp electric motor, allowing it to travel up to 214 miles on a single charge, achieves a 2% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rate (2022/23), and offers a range of charging options, including 100kW rapid charging capability, allowing a 0-80% charge to be completed in 30 minutes.

Furniture Village is currently installing EV charge points at all of its stores and fulfilment centres across the UK.

Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT, UK, said: “We’re thrilled that Furniture Village has chosen the e-2008 as the car with which to move to a fully electric fleet – it’s great to see companies like this leading the way in the transition to electrification.

“The e-2008 is a fantastic choice for both first-time electric users and those familiar with the technology, combining an alluring design with an impressive range and ease of use thanks to PEUGEOT’s i-Cockpit® technology.”

Charlie Harrison, Commercial Director, Furniture Village, said: “The PEUGEOT e-2008 is the ideal car for us as we make the important decision to adopt a fully electric fleet – one of the steps we’re taking as a business to become more environmentally friendly.

“With its range of over 200 miles and rapid charging capability, the e-2008 is well-suited to the needs of our employees as they travel to and from our 54 stores and 12 fulfilment centres nationwide and customers’ homes.”
