Commercial transport industry takes next steps to decarbonisation at ITT Hub, 11th-12th May
Innovation and Technology in Transport Hub (ITT Hub) will be discussing the opportunity the commercial transport industry has to fully decarbonise with the support of new technology across two days, 11th-12th May, at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
ITT Hub 2022 will focus on how the industry is revolutionising technology, equipment and strategies as it accelerates its transition to Net Zero, and lead conversations on the support required from the government, energy suppliers and broader ecosystem required to implement these tactics.
Speaking on ITT Hub News’ recent Lunch with Leon podcast, Paul Jewell, system development manager at Western Power Distribution (WPD), vowed “the transport industry is the biggest opportunity for the energy sector which exists today”.
Leading the conversation at ITT Hub will be Future Logistics Conference 2022 keynote speakers, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock MBE and Trudy Harrison MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Transport, who will be discuss how cutting edge developments in space exploration and physics shape transport’s route to net zero and the steps that have and can be made to decarbonising the UK’s road freight fleet.
On speaking at the event, president of the British Science Association, Dr Aderin-Pocock MBE, said: “Logistics plays such a vital role in all our lives, both here on Earth and out there in space; making it more sustainable across the board is critical for all our futures.”
Over 60 industry speakers will be sharing leading insight on a range of subjects, covering considerations for gas, battery-electric, hydrogen, electric, retrofit, skills, apprenticeships and developments in technology.
A key theme over the two days will be reviewing the delivery of the government’s Transport Decarbonisation Plan and progress being made with the rollout of infrastructure and energy choices required to support it.
Industry leaders are utilising ITT Hub’s platform to unveil brand new vehicles and concepts throughout the two days, including Volta Trucks’ ground-breaking Volta Zero and Ilesbus UK’s new 32-seater I-City Max.
In addition to launches of new Renault Trucks last mile e-mobility concept vehicle and news from Wrightbus with their hydrogen-powered vehicle range, many other announcements from the sector is widely expected.
Supported by commercial partners, National Grid, Western Power Distribution (WPD), Zenobē, Lloyds Bank and Lex Autolease, ITT Hub will see over 130 businesses across the vehicles, warehouse, fleet management, software, safety, and compliance sectors exhibit, including DAF Trucks, Ford, Harris Maxus, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, TRAILAR, Schmitz Cargobull, Tachosys, TruTac, TyreWatch, Disc-Lock, Air Products and Argent Energy.
