Akira Kirton becomes new chief executive of BP Pulse

Akira Kirton has been named as the new chief executive of electric vehicle charging infrastructure company BP Pulse.

Akira Kirton has been named as the new chief executive of electric vehicle charging infrastructure company BP Pulse.

Kirton (pictured) has held a number of positions at BP including Vice President – New Business Execution – Future Mobility & Solutions; Vice President – Global Acetyls; Managing Director – Europe & Asia, bp Ventures. He also previously worked as Strategy Director – Bioenergy & Distributed Energy at Energy Technologies Institute.

Kirton replaces Matteo de Renzi who has held the position of CEO since 2019.

BP Pulse recently announced plans to expand its ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure significantly across the UK, with a series of new charging hubs developed in partnership with The EV Network (EVN).
