Some 61 electric charging points are due to be installed across Portsmouth after the city council signed off the scheme.

The points will add to the 36 points that have already been installed to create a city-wide network of charging for residents and businesses. £200,000 was allocated by the council from Department for Transport funding, providing some 80 charge points.

The 61 chargers were agreed after consultation with citizens about where the points could be sited and to overcome any potential objections to specified locations.
